I was asked to create a series of short podcasts with a focus on abstract music and sound to reflect the art created in connection to the award.

All My Life I Will Carry You

The below track ‘All My Life I Will Carry You’ aims to capture the feeling of the artwork on the right created by Lakwena. In the final version the music underscores the voices from Accumulate and the Art School for the Homeless. It gradually builds to reach a euphoric finish where they repeat the words of the artwork to a great emotional effect.

THE COLOUR OF WORDS

The art on the right is a section of a mural created by David Shillinglaw that is inspired by workshops with the creative writing group at HMP Grendon. The workshops aim to provide an opportunity for the men to tell part of their story through Haiku and poetry writing.

The music below underscores David walking us through his creative process and the inspiration that the poems provided him with.

The music on the right underscores the judges of the competition explaining what the award is all about and how they came to a decision.

The brief was to create something very ambient, abstract and textural that slowly develops throughout.

‘Tahiti Adventure’ is a library music track that I created with the intention for it to used in a family film, animation or musical. It’s uplifting, light and friendly!

‘Sea’ is from a library music collection I made to evoke the feeling of Space, Sea and Sky whilst maintaining a consistent ethereal tone.

‘A Particular Friend Main Theme’ is the main theme from a short film I worked on recently as the Sound Designer and Composer. The brief was to create something highly sensual, contemporary and similar to the style of Perfume Genius. Incorporating the hymn in the vocals was hugely important for the themes of the film.

‘Cereal Serial Main Theme’ is the theme music for a podcast parody of ‘Serial’ where the topic of conversation is cereal instead of true crime.
